10 Lessons to Close the 2010s

At some point in the decade I realized I couldn’t juggle every expected goal. I decided to live by one rule:
I’ll try to live without accumulating regrets.
Ten notes I kept for myself:
- Life isn’t fair—stop looking for culprits.
- There’s no greatness in suffering.
- You’re responsible for decisions, consequences, and how you manage feelings after.
- Help others.
- Time invested in loved ones is the best time.
- “No one fully controls their life—at best, choose to be influenced by those who love you.”
- Tell people you love them when you feel it.
- Notice what makes you feel whole; it will pass.
- It’s okay to be sad; that too shall pass.
- You can’t know anyone’s full story—reserve judgment.
Heraclitus said we never step into the same river twice. Here’s to change. Happy 2020.
